From the President, May 2023

As we look forward to warm summer days, I’m reminded that our biggest fundraiser of the year has just kicked off. That is the Cadillac of Raffles. I strongly encourage everyone to purchase a minimum of one ticket. If a ticket has not been sent to you, don’t worry, you can still get in on the fun by seeing Deb in the office or calling a board member or your President (me), and we can hook you up! If the $100 is not in your budget, remember you can purchase a partial ticket. If we sell all 300 tickets, you have the chance to take home $15,000 or a fraction there of. There will also be five – $200 winners.

In addition to the raffle we are having a family friendly Ice Cream Social/Happy Hour on Sunday, June 25th starting at 4:00pm. Come for the fun and stay for our annual meeting at 6:00pm. We will be serving substantial dairy/vegan appetizers.

There are other activities happening this summer that are always looking for helpers. The Sacred Grounds Garden is expanding. Diane Rayor and friends from Ahavas and All Souls met on May 3rd to plant two Elderberry bushes and two Hazelnut trees, weed and mulch the whole area. The community garden, which raises fresh vegetables for a local food bank, is also in full swing.

If you would like to help with either of these summer projects feel free to contact Diane Rayor or Allyson Cole-Strauss.

I hope to see many of you occasionally at Shul and other Jewish community program this summer. Have a safe and fun summer.

Ann Berman
