Selihot movie and service, Saturday, September 28, 9:30 p.m.

Tiger Within
A story featuring an unlikely friendship between a homeless teen and a Holocaust survivor, sparking larger questions of fear, forgiveness, healing and world peace, starring multiple Emmy Award-winning actor, Ed Asner.

The movie will be followed by a Selihot service, beginning at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Sunday, September 29 – Kever Avot cemetery visits.

It is customary to visit the graves of parents and other relatives at the season of the Yamim Nora’im, Days of Awe, and recite a memorial prayer. Rabbi Krishef will be available to say personal memorial prayers at the graves of your loved ones.

Friday, October 4, Rosh Hashanah, 2nd day

  • Shaharit 9:00 a.m.
  • Minha/Kabbalat Shabbat 6:30 p.m.

Monday, October 6 is a minor (sunrise to sundown) fast day, Tzom Gedalia, in memory of the last (Babylonian appointed) Jewish governor of Judea, assassinated by a Jew who thought cooperation with the Babylonians was treasonous. Normally, it is commemorated the day after Rosh Hashanah. This year, since we do not observe minor fast days on Shabbat, it is postponed until Sunday.
