Sefirat Ha-omer, Counting the Omer

It is a mitzvah to count each day between Passover and Shavuot, a practice known as counting the omer, sefirat ha-omer. The omer was a sheaf of barley brought as an offering in anticipation of the new wheat and first fruits offering of Shavuot. You can download an omer-counting calendar here.
